Recently the US Department of State released a travel alert through out the US, informing their citizens about certain acts of violence and safety instability that have been occurring in Mexico since the Mexican federal government started an unstoppable war against drugs cartels. Even though, we can guarantee you this are isolated acts, that haven’t affected even us Mexicans, who live here every day.
Let me put an example of it: I’ve lived in several states of the Mexican Republic, like Mexico City, Cancun, Cuernavaca and Cuautla and haven’t even once, been a casualty of violence or insecurity.
Those stories you hear about in t.v. news and read of in magazines and newspapers are few, isolated cases, which the media takes and expose to gain audience and increase ratings. The truth is, insecurity is found everywhere; Mexico has its quota of it, of course, but isn’t bigger or more severe than in any other country. In addition Mexican federal government and local government had taken all precautions to make touristic spots as safe as possible, because tourism is one of the main industries to the country.
States like Quintana Roo, Baja California, Jalisco, Oaxaca, etc. are well secure zones. We have no incident of violence regarding drugs or assault to foreign tourists in main Mexican vacation areas, such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, San José or Puerto Vallarta.
If you have any doubt, please contact us.
Sincerely,
Original Resorts Team.
